Suffolk E-Bike Hire Terms and Conditions

Please carefully review this information prior to booking.

Proof of Identification

To collect your e-bikes, the lead hirer must provide proof of identification without exception. This ID should include a photo ID (e.g., passport or driver's license) and proof of address.

Payment and Security Deposit

As the hirer, you acknowledge full financial liability for any loss, theft, or damage to all bikes and accessories under this agreement, including damage due to excessive dirt. Repairs or replacements will be charged at the full market value.

You will be required to provide credit or debit card details as a security deposit when renting from Suffolk E-Bikes. Please remember to bring a copy of a card. These details will be securely stored during the rental period and will be deleted upon the return of bikes and accessories in satisfactory condition. Failure to return items in satisfactory condition may result in charges to your debit or credit card.

Safety and Security

As the hirer, you are responsible for all riders in your party. You confirm that all electric bike riders are 14 years or older, as it is illegal to use electric bikes below this age. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

You understand that cycling carries inherent risks, and any person using Suffolk E-Bike Hire equipment does so at their own risk. Suffolk E-Bike Hire is not liable for injuries, loss, or damage to personal property. Helmets and locks are provided with the bikes and remain our property during the rental. We recommend wearing helmets. By signing this agreement, you and your party assume full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or fatalities.

Suffolk E-Bikes does not offer personal accident insurance.

All bikes in your party must be ridden safely and responsibly, and racing is strictly prohibited. Bikes should only be used on routes suitable for the hired bike's skill level.

For overnight bike hire, bikes must be stored in a locked building.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability which cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence and fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Cycling Manner

Cycling must be conducted sensibly and with respect for others and the environment. You are expected to follow the Highway Code, particularly the "Rules for cyclists." Pedestrians have priority on shared walkways. Discourteous or unsafe cycling behavior may result in repossession of bikes and accessories without refunds.

Bikes hired from Suffolk E-Bike Hire are for road and cycle path use only and should not be ridden off-road.

Late Returns/Early Returns

Bikes and accessories under this agreement must be returned within the specified hire period unless otherwise agreed. Late return incurs a fee of £10 per half hour per bike, with additional charges at management discretion. No refunds are given for early returns or cancellations, regardless of adverse weather conditions.

Insurance

Suffolk E-Bikes recommends having your own public liability insurance, as it is not provided by us.

Personal Health

You declare that everyone in your party is in good health and meets the eyesight requirements of a road driving test. No one in your party has a medical condition or disability that impairs bike control.

Nuisances

The use of bikes or accessories under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or solvents is strictly prohibited. Violations result in immediate confiscation without refunds or compensation.

Suffolk E-Bike Hire Reserves the Right

We reserve the right not to hire bikes and accessories to any individual or group.

This agreement is governed by English Law. If any part of the agreement becomes unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
